Bahía Ballena Beach

Bahia Ballena BeachPlaya Bahia Ballena Beach is a wonderful tourist place to stay for the budget traveler. One can surf here along the Beach, or go for a short kayak ride along the coast and take in this wildlife rich area. At this beach Horseback riding is also available or one can take afternoon sunbathing.

Playa Bahia Ballena Beach is located about 7 km from the south of Uvita and nearby of Marino Ballena National Park boundaries which was created to protect coral and rock reefs in 5375 hectares of ocean around the Isla Ballena.This Beach has many magnificent frigate birds, blue-footed boobies, seabirds, and many green iguanas and basilisk lizards. At this Playa Bahia Beach one can see Whales from December to March season when these Whales migrate to warmer climes. Bottle-nosed dolphins can also be seen here through out the year. Near of this Island no village is situated rather many small places to stay here along the road.

Drake Bay Dominical Beach

Dominical BeachDominical Beach has become a favorite stop for many tourists in the last couple of years. One will find here miles of unspoiled lonely beaches, beautiful bays along the coast, and the tiny village of Dominical. One can easily get here many small places to stay along the road, and various cozy restaurant and local food.

Playa Dominical Beach is situated 35 km from San Isidro highway that crosses The General's valley to the south and from where beautiful views can be seen. One can also come here from Quepos on the coastal road of about 40 km.There is also Alternate Coastal route from San Jose (the capital of Costa Rica). Drive south from Quepos (Manuel Antonio National Park) to Dominical along the coastal road. This route requires 4-6 hrs.

Dominical Beach is a long Beach of sedimentary sand of brownish tones with good waves to go surfing.
